Getting to Orca Island Cabins
Orca Island Cabins is located in Humpy Cove, nine miles South of Seward, across Resurrection bay, and is accessible only by boat. On your check-in day, we will meet you at “J dock” in the Seward Harbor at 12:30pm. We recommend that you plan to arrive about 15 minutes prior to ensure a timely departure. Our staff will meet you at the top of the ramp and will help you board our 15-passenger cabin cruiser, the Orca Islander.
Once aboard, enjoy the one-hour private cruise to Orca Island Cabins. Along the way, catch amazing views of the area and the abundant wild and marine life. Once you arrive at Orca Island, our friendly staff will be waiting to help you. While you get a brief orientation of the island, we will carry your luggage to your yurt and check you in, so that you can take in the scenery and relax.
On the day you return to Seward from Orca Island, you will take the same private boat. Departure time is 10am, with an arrival around 11am at the Seward Harbor. If we see great marine life during the boat ride, the ride may take longer than 1-hour. If you have plans on the return day that require a timely arrival in Seward, please let us know.
Because Orca Island Cabins is a remote wilderness destination, we encourage guests to stay on the Island and explore the immediate area during their stay. Our water taxi service, the cost of which is included in our rates, is designed to take our guests to and from the island at the designated departure and pick-up times. However, special arrangements can be made to water taxi guests to other areas within Resurrection Bay or to Seward for a fee.
