Kat is Orca Island Cabin’s operations manager, meaning she’s the shoreside go-to person all year long. If you call our phone number, (907) 362 – 9014, she’ll be the voice on the other end of the line.
Born and raised in New Jersey, Kat moved to Alaska in February 2017 to work for a small newspaper.
Within a year she found herself in Seward and, soon after, working with the Swiderski’s at Orca Island Cabins.
In the summer, she’s busy organizing, scheduling and helping to greet guests at J-Dock. As an avid runner, she’ll take advantage of the sunny summer days with long runs in the evening. Each year, she spends months training for Seward’s Mount Marathon Race.
In the winter, Kat slows down but still stays active.
While many people escape to warmer climates, Kat loves winter in Alaska. She learned how to cross country ski her first winter in the state and was hooked. She’ll ski laps around Bear Lake or up and down Exit Glacier Road (which they groom for skate skiing in the winter!)
In the summer when she stays at Orca Island and in the winter, when she’s not playing in the snow, she’s cozying up with a strong cup of coffee and a good book.
