Our Yurts

Our eco-friendly yurt cabins offer you a wonderful way to experience Alaska’s scenic beauty in total comfort. They rely mostly on solar power and each features a private bathroom with a modern compost toilet, plus running water and a fully-functional kitchen. Our yurts were designed for privacy and relaxation and provide everything you need for a memorable, stress-free experience. This is glamping (glamorous camping) at its finest!

 

Each yurt sleeps 2 to 4 persons, and starts at $850/night based on double occupancy

Yurt Amenities

Sleeping:

Queen bed, full size futon, all linens, blankets, and pillows provided

Private Bathroom:

Hot shower, sink, modern composting toilet, towels, shampoo, conditioner, bodywash

Kitchen/Cooking:

4-Burner stove and oven, barbecue grill (propane) on private balcony, 48-quart cooler, kitchen sink with hot and cold water, dish soap & hand soap, sponge and dish drying towel, matches/lighter, dining table/chairs, pots and pans, cutting board, knives and cooking utensils, dining and silverware, drip coffee maker, tea kettle, paper towels, foil, tea selection, coffee, sugar, salt & pepper, olive oil.

Extras

Propane Wood Stove (similar to a fireplace), binoculars (1 set per cabin), board games, selection of books

Guest Information

  • Water Taxi between Seward and the Resort on check-in day and on return-day are included. It takes approximately 1 hour to travel between Seward and Orca Island Cabins. The taxi departs Seward for the Island at 1 pm daily for all check-ins, and it departs Orca Island at 10 am on return (check-out) days. Please see Getting Here for more information.
  • Orca Island Cabins guests should bring all food and adequate ice for your stay (coolers are provided). Please Note: There is no food available for purchase and no restaurants at the property.
  • Fresh drinking water is provided in each rental unit. There is no need to bring additional water.
  • Firewood is provided for outside campfires.
  • Fishing poles and tackle are available on the island, but guests should bring their own bait if they plan to fish.
  • Sea Kayaks, inflatable row boats, stand up paddleboards, snorkel gear and related equipment are available at the island. Please see Activity page for more information.
  • Orca Island Cabins is located in a temperate rainforest. While we do see plenty of sunshine during the summer months, we also see plenty of rain. Guests wanting to explore the area are encouraged to bring waterproof hiking boots as well as rain jackets and pants. For more information on what to pack, see our FAQ's.

Guest Policies

MINIMUM STAY
Although one-night reservations are accepted, we recommend a minimum stay of 2 nights. For more information, please see Our Policies.

CANCELATIONS
Cancellations made 60 days or more prior to reserved date(s) will receive a full refund less $50.00 processing fee per cabin rental. Cancellations made 30 days or more (but less than 60 days) prior to reserved date(s) will receive a refund less one night’s rental per cabin. Recognizing that our guests may encounter unanticipated circumstances that may necessitate a change in their travel plans, sometimes requiring them to cancel their reservations, we suggest that vacation cancellation insurance be purchased. 

CHILDREN
Due to safety issues primarily involving the rugged and steep coastline of Orca Island, slippery rocks, the elevated cabin decks and their proximity to the shoreline, and the cold ocean waters surrounding the island, only children 12 and older are permitted. For more information, please see Our Policies. 

PETS
We do not allow pets. Our property is made up of boardwalks on rocks and cliffs, and is not a place for domesticated animals.
